Background

Each year, the government spends billions of dollars purchasing both goods and services. Becoming certified offers firms the opportunity to participate in local, state, and federal government projects. One benefit of certification is less competition. Instead of competing with all businesses, certified firms are competing only with other certified businesses, in most instances.  Certification opens the door to endless opportunities such as access to contracts, sub-contracts, and the ability to joint venture with other entities.
